We have designed these programs to empower the kids and teens because they are the custodians of tomorrow.
When a small group of kids are shown that in a class room that they can plant 1300 trees in a hour and half (15x children) they retain that can do attitude forever
We invested heavily early on our journey into teachers and early childhood educators, authors and artists to help us create a "true program" that meets curriculum requirements, certification and was purpose build. Not a stitched together misguided ill fitting program
We have several program methods for involvement:
Art competitions, shopping bags colouring, tree planting, craft, paper mache' plant pot making,
We also publish environmental story books and educational material for kids and teens in seven languages.
We have available a number of "FREE" downloadable images for kids to print out and colour in.
There are also a few snippets of the books for the child to read (or parent / educator) prior to purchase of the set to measure its value and worthiness as a investment.
HSO is proud to have had a hand in creating some terrific environmental books that are educational and fun at the same time with "Blue" our mascot featuring as a Koala Super Hero on a series of missions top help his community and fellow animals.
These books also dabble in behaviors like bullying, sharing, friendship, respect, activity and more .. not just environment, and also include themes of human and animal cooperation to solve problems in the environment
Our kinder and Primary School programs were co written by Early Childhood Educators and Teachers for real life classroom applications as a curriculum that was independently certifiable by relevant authorities necessary to be implemented as a longer term class room course / activity, with support materials and outcomes
HSO and Kids that care have a number of community activities that we encourage children and teens to be involved with from beach cleanups, to community programs, sanctuary visits and more .
